Now that the Covid-19 vaccine is available for most countries, we can finally start getting back into our normal rhythm and getting back to our life and travel goals. This article is a quick guide for your next travels during Covid-19.

What are the ‘updated’ health protocols on domestic travel?

Anyone traveling today should delay traveling until they are fully vaccinated. From the data of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention or CDC, a fully vaccinated person with an FDA-authorized vaccine or a vaccine authorized for emergency use by the World Health Organization can travel safely within the United States.

If you are yet vaccinated and must travel, follow CDC’s recommendations for unvaccinated people.

Can I (fully vaccinated) travel Domestically?

Domestic travel or international travel? Definitely YES! In an updated recommendation of CDC, fully vaccinated travelers are at low risk to get and spread Covid-19.

  • Fully Vaccinated people may resume activities that they did prior to pandemic.
  • Fully Vaccinated people may resume activities without wearing a mask or physical distancing, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance.

Can I (unvaccinated) travel domestically?

Yes. Unlike fully vaccinated people, unvaccinated ones may be required to get tested for domestic travel. You will be required to wear a mask that fully covers your nose and mouth on planes, public transport and most public places. You will be required to maintain physical social distancing, avoid crowds and actively wash hands or use hand sanitizer.

Safety protocols for an unvaccinated traveler.

After your travel, get tested and stay home quarantine for full 7 days. If you test positive, isolate and monitor yourself on possible symptoms. If you tested negative, continue to finish 7 days quarantine. If you don’t get tested, isolate for a full 10 days quarantine.

If you are looking to travel internationally, you must follow the safety protocols already mentioned. Here are additional safety protocols you must follow before taking off.

  • Do not travel until you are fully vaccinated. Being fully vaccinated lessens the chance to get and spread Covid-19 and it’s variants.

Ready to do domestic travel and a city break? Times Square or Broadway, is just one of the most visited tourist attractions in New York.

Good news! The Big Apple as of June 25, 2021, the state of New York’s Travel Advisory is no longer in effect. Travelers are no longer required to submit traveler health forms and should continue to follow all CDC travel requirements.

New York follows the US Travel Rules and does not allow entry of countries with most number of Covid-19 virus.

Disneyland California

Disneyland California recommends that all visitors get fully vaccinated or present a negative COVID-19 test prior to entering the resort. While on the other hand, unvaccinated guests must wear face mask indoors.

All guests need to present a valid ticket for the same day and same park you want to visit. Some attractions may have limited capacity or are unavailable.

Puerto Rico

Eyeing for a palm beach, Caribbean travel destination like Puerto Rico? Well, you don’t need to wait until after the pandemic. You can enjoy the open beaches that the country offers. Puerto Rico allows entry for fully vaccinated travelers. You are required to upload your official Vaccination Card to Declaration Portal.

Non vaccinated visitors are required to present a valid PCR molecular or antigen COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of arrival and must be uploaded to 48 hours before arrival or you will be charge a $300 fine. If the result is Negative, the quarantine will be lifted however, if the result is Positive, you will be required to isolate and follow local rules and regulations.

Austria

Need an escape from the cities? Austria is a perfect place to get away. With mountainous lands full of luscious green and clear fresh rivers, it wont take long to forget your worries and take in the beautiful landscape Austria has to offer.

Effective September 15, only fully vaccinated US persons may enter Austria without vaccination requirements. Unvaccinated people 12 years and older will do under mandatory quarantine for 10 days and must have negative results on COVID-19 testings.
